ST. Theresa Prayer Hoax

This ST. teresa prayer chain hoax just keeps cropping up, refusing to go away, and for this reason, it warrants an entry on this site along with the smash.

You can recognize this supposed prayer by the way it begins, and there are at least two versions.

Chain1: May today there be peace within.

Chain2: May today be all you need it to be.

Capri: Those are the words that start each version, though it might be placed in the middle of a longer forward or at the end. One such example was on a blog that showcased the fake prayer immediately following the president of Argentina unholy picture hoax. The fake prayer may be at the beginning of the chain letter , followed by some other hoax, or it may be the only item in the chain letter. When you see "May today there be peace within" or "May today be all you need it to be." you know you've just been hit with the ST. Teresa prayer hoax.

No, it is not from ST. Theresa, Not A Real Prayer, and not even a poem.

It is seen in bits and pieces in various forwards and really has nothing at all to do with ST. Therese of Lisieux, Teresa Avila, or Mother Teresa.

Posters on a multi-page thread at the Cathlic forums smash chain letters right. Specifically this one. Someone there even said it looked like something newage.

If that isn't enough to convince you to stop spreading chain letters, consider the idea that by originating and spreading forwards, you could be participating in witchcraft. i certainly don't subscribe to everything this person has written, but this one article on chain letters is worth the read if it'll help people to stop with the forwarding. He's the one with the information on the connection between the seemingly random numbers mentioned in chain letters and numerology, and that really got me thinking. There might be something to it, and it doesn't apply to only this chain letter but to any that stress importance on apparently random numbers.
